Queens Park Rangers midfielder Alejandro Faurlin will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Faurlin was carried off on a stretching during the 1-1 draw with MK Dons in the FA Cup third round tie on Saturday.

The extent of the injury to the 25-year-old has been confirmed just a few hours after QPR parted company with manager Neil Warnock.

Faurlin broke the news on his Twitter account on Sunday evening, but vowed to battle back as quickly as possible.

"I just want to let you know guys, its bad news for me I have rupture of the ACL," Faurlin said. "I'm out for the rest of the season. Really disappointed. Sad.

"Things never been easy for me. But for sure I will be back stronger. I accept this test as professional and person as well."
