Scott: Getting back to full fitness

Striker Josh Scott is targeting a first start in more than 12 months when Dagenham face Walsall in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Scott had been sidelined for over a year, first with a blood clot on the lung and then with hip and knee injuries, before making his playing return as a substitute in the first-round draw with Bath on November 12.

The 26-year-old has since made three more appearances off the bench and he is hoping to have earned the chance to start up front for the Daggers against the Saddlers this weekend.

"I'm looking to start against Walsall," he told London 24. "I'm getting back to full fitness. I'm a little bit off but hopefully I'll be up and running fully in a week or two.

"I've been out for a long time and it's been disappointing, but it's one of those things.

"I'm feeling sharper and I'll get a lot sharper than I am at the moment."
