Wales have claimed seventh spot at the Netball World Cup after a 64-41 victory over Uganda.
It was goal-for-goal for the first half of the opening quarter with an intense pace, as both teams moved the ball with ferocity.
Unfortunately Welsh Goal Attack Emma Thomas went down and had to leave the game. Georgia Rowe (32/38) came in and quickly extended their lead on a five to finish the quarter 15-11.
Ugandan shooter Peace Proscovia (31/34) continued her form to start the second after going nine for nine in the first quarter.
The excellent shooting continued for both sides, with Welsh duo Rowe and Chelsea Lewis remained without a miss after 20 attempts at goal with 10 minutes left in the quarter.
Lewis (31/35) continued making her shots count, finishing the half with only one miss, 20/21. The second quarter belonged to Wales 33-20 going into half-time.
Uganda came out firing in the third quarter going on a quick five goal run in the opening few minutes. The run was short-lived however, when Wales made four unanswered goals. Despite Uganda taking the quarter win 15-11, Wales remain in the lead 44-35.
In the final quarter, both teams put everything on the line, leaping for the loose balls and making their shots count. Although the momentum continued to flow to Wales, Ugandan captain Proscovia remained positive and continued to cheer her goals to the finish line as Wales took the seventh spot in a hard-fought 64-41 win.
