Shaun Murphy saw off teenager Luca Brecel in a deciding frame to book a semi-final against Ali Carter at the williamhill.com UK Championship.
"In the first part of the match I played all right. I don't feel like I've played particularly great yet but I'm in the semis and I'd take that," said Carter, who also reached the semi-final of this event in 2008. "I'll definitely need to play better. I'm going to have to find some form to go on and win the tournament."
