Vanessa Mae takes her appeal against a four-year ban from skiing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland on Tuesday.
The violinist-turned-skier was banned by the International Ski Federation (FIS) last November for being an active or knowing participant in the manipulation of results in order to qualify for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The 36-year-old competed for Thailand, the country of her father's ancestry, at the Sochi Games and finished 67th in the Giant Slalom.
The FIS banned Mae and five officials following inconsistencies relating to the results off four races held in Slovenia the month before last year’s Games.
Mae, who competed under the name Vanessa Vanakorn at Sochi, had earlier described the sanction imposed on her by the FIS as “nonsensical”.
