Great Britain’s men can edge closer to qualification for next year’s Olympic Games if they defeat Pakistan in the World League semi-final on Wednesday.

Bobby Crutchley’s team were forced to settle for second place in Pool B, despite claiming a 3-1 win over Malaysia on Sunday in Antwerp, and have been pitted against Pakistan in the quarter-finals, live on Sky Sports.

Hosts Belgium snatched top spot with a 2-1 victory over Ireland, but there was controversy in the closing stages as a video umpire appeared to deny the Irish a clear penalty corner.

The final standings mean that Great Britain face a tougher test against Pakistan, who finished third in Pool B, while Ireland will take on Pool B leaders Australia, the world's top-ranked team.

Great Britain are yet to suffer a defeat in the tournament and hit back with goals from David Condon, Ashley Jackson and Sam Ward after falling behind to Malaysia.

Teams can clinch qualification for the Rio Games with a top-three finish in the competition.

You can watch two of Thursday's World League matches on Sky Sports 1, with Ireland taking on Australia from 12pm, while Great Britain face Pakistan at 2.30pm.
