Golden State Warriors won their ninth game in a row to clinch the top seeding in the Western Conference

The Golden State Warriors wrapped up the top seeding in the NBA’s Western Conference with a 108-95 win over Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

And the Warriors also set a club record for wins in a season, their 60th victory of the campaign eclipsing the 59 games they won in 1975-76.

Stephen Curry scored 25 points and Klay Thompson added 21 for the Warriors, who will have home court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs after winning their ninth match in a row.

Harrison Barnes weighed in with 13 points and pulled down six rebounds while Marreese Speights supplied 12 points and seven rebounds for Golden State, who connected on 12 of 25 three-point attempts and made 12 of 14 free throws.

The Bucks struggled in contrast, hitting just two of 15 baskets from three-point range and 37.9 percent from the floor overall, Khris Middleton leading their scorers with 14 points.

Milwaukee did trim what had been a 19-point deficit at the end of three quarters to 11 when they scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter, but Golden State pulled clear again with a 10-4 scoring run.

Elsewhere, a miserable season for the New York Knicks continued as they suffered a franchise-record 60th loss of the campaign.

The Knicks made it seven defeats in a row and 14 in 16 games when they were thrashed 111-80 by the Chicago Bulls.

Rookie Nikola Mirotic had another good game for Chicago, scoring 24 points, while Pau Gasol recorded his league-leading 48th double-double, scoring 19 points and adding 12 rebounds.

Charlotte Hornets claimed a 115-110 victory over an Atlanta Hawks team who rested all five starters, a night after they had clinched the top seeding for the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Gerald Henderson scored 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting, and Mo Williams hit four 3-pointers and had 18 points, as the Hornets snapped a three-game losing streak, moving back to within a game of eighth-place in the Conference.

Trey Burke scored 22 points off the bench to help Utah Jazz rally from a 16-point deficit and beat Oklahoma City Thunder 94-89.

And LaMarcus Aldridge had 32 points and 11 rebounds as Portland Trail Blazers made it three wins in a row with a 120-114 victory over Denver Nuggets.
