THE MASTERS 2014

  10 - 13 April

Jason Day

This is my first Masters, so whatever happens, I'm just having fun out here.

- Day speaking after shooting a 70 on his first competitive round in the Masters in 2011.

I shot a lot of low scores before, but this probably takes the cake of being the lowest and probably the best round I've played. I watched Rory shoot 7-under yesterday, and he put himself in the right positions on the course. He played the course exactly how it's supposed to play. I had a game plan at the start of the week and I'm just trying to stick to that. There are certain holes that you want to respect out here, and then there are certain holes that you want to try and jump on and hopefully get a birdie.

- Day on his second round 64 which lifted him into second place.

'97, watching Tiger, and he just blew away the field. That's when I wanted to play well and one day play the Masters, play Augusta National. You know, I'm here, and I'm just having a lot of fun. It feels amazing to be in my position right now.

- Day on his early Masters memories and realising the dream.

It was one of the most exciting tournaments I've ever played in. You're walking down the fairway and there's so many roars, you don't know what's going on and you see a number pop up on the leaderboard and the crowd is going crazy. It's lived up to everything I expected, and more, which is fantastic. I've had the best first Masters experience, and this is going to go down for a long, long time in the memory bank. I've just had a blast.

- Despite just being edged out by Charl Schwartzel, joint runner-up Day is bouncing off the walls after his memorable Masters debut.
