Sussex required just 37 deliveries to wrap-up a crushing innings and 12-run victory over Yorkshire on the final morning at Headingley.
After spirited resistance from Gary Balance and Ryan Sidebottom took the game into the final day, Sussex seamers Chris Jordan and Steve Magoffin swiftly polished off the innings on Saturday morning.
Debutant Jordan snared Jack Brooks in his third over of the morning to finish with a match haul of 8-90 and Australian paceman Magoffin ended with 5-51 when he took the match-clinching wicket of Ballance for 63 two balls later.
The dismissal of Ballance saw the Tykes dismissed for 248 in their second knock, 12 runs short of making Sussex bat again.
Brooks was the first to depart when he edged Jordan to Mike Yardy at second slip for just five.
And Magoffin finished the job the following over when Ballance ballooned an attempted slog straight up and wicketkeeper Ben Brown pouched comfortably.
Sussex pick up 23 points for the emphatic win, while Yorkshire collect only three on their return to LV= County Championship Division One.
