Phil Jaques hit 70 not out off 42 balls to lead Worcestershire Royals to an eight-wicket success over Derbyshire Falcons in front of a sparse crowd at New Road.
Only 1,000 spectators, not even half the regular turnout in this competition, were persuaded to shun the England v Germany World Cup last 16 game on TV in favour of the FP t20 clash.
Those that did were treated to a Jaques masterclass as the Royals overhauled a target of 148 with 29 balls to spare.
The Australian left-hander was well supported by Moeen Ali (45) during a second-wicket stand of 87 and finished the job in the company of Alexei Kervezee (15no).
Earlier, seam duo Jack Shantry and James Cameron had each claimed three wickets as the Falcons struggled to 147-7 after being sent in.
Former Somerset all-rounder Wes Durston continued his fine recent form with 77 off 57 deliveries but he lacked support from his team-mates.
Shantry (3-23), who took all three of his wickets in the penultimate over, and Cameron (3-22) proved difficult to get away, both going at less than six-an-over.
