W Indies vs England
West Indies were totally dominant today. England did quite well in the field but struggled with the bat against West Indies' spinners. The game was over long before the end. The three-match series continues at the same venue on Tuesday. Join us then. Good night.
Over 20 - England 143/9 (Bresnan 47, Dernbach 1)
Bravo concedes 10 runs from the final over, including a carved Bresnan boundary from the last delivery. West Indies win by 27 runs.
Over 19 - England 133/9 (Bresnan 38, Dernbach 0)
Bresnan managed to clear midwicket for a six prior to Tredwell's departure. Last man Dernbach wanders out with the small matter of 38 runs required from the final over.
Tredwell run out (Russell) 1
Tredwell is not in the picture after Bresnan inside edged the ball into his pads and set off for a run. The bowler Russell picked up in his follow through and threw down the stumps.
Over 18 - England 123/8 (Bresnan 28, Tredwell 0)
Tredwell joins Bresnan with England needing 48 runs from 12 balls.
Broad run out (Ramdin) 5
Broad limps off after being beaten by wicketkeeper Ramdin's shy at the stumps. He didn't seem to know where the ball had gone after missing with a big swing and, in the end, was well short of regaining his ground. England';s T20 captain doesn't look fully fit, he only bowled two overs earlier and was slow in turning back on that occasion.
Over 17 - England 119/7 (Bresnan 28, Broad 2)
Bresnan hacks a couple of fours in fast bowler Russell's opening over, one off the inside edge and one off the outside. England need 52 from 18 balls.
Over 16 - England 107/7 (Bresnan 18, Broad 1)
Samuels completes figures of 2-21 from his four overs. Everyone seems to be winding down for the day, including Broad who shoulders arms to the final delivery. England need 64 from 24 balls.
Over 15 - England 102/7 (Bresnan 14, Broad )
England need 69 from 30 balls after Broad fails to score off his first two deliveries. Unlikely.
Bopara c and b Bravo 42
Bopara smears a slower ball high in the air and this time West Indies make no mistake, Bravo calling for and holding the catch off his own bowling. He celebrates with a few dance moves.
Over 14 - England 96/6 (Bopara 38, Bresnan 12)
Samuels races through another over for the cost of just five singles, Bresnan missing out on a half-tracker to finish. England need 75 from 36 balls.
Over 13 - England 91/6 (Bopara 36, Bresnan 9)
Rampaul back on. Dropped! Bopara heaves high in the air, good hang time and - when it finally comes down - Samuels steps away and leaves the catch to Sammy, who has to dive and can't cling on. Bopara celebrates by hitting the next two balls for four and Bresnan also joins the boundary train, cutting just short of a diving Bravo at third-man.
Over 12 - England 76/6 (Bopara 27, Bresnan 3)
Stokes' dismissal came straight after a verbal altercation between Samuels and Bopara. West Indies skipper Sammy also joined in before the umpire calmed things down. Looks like they've all made friends again. England need 95 from 48 balls.
Stokes st Ramdin b Samuels
Stokes becomes the third England batsman to be stumped. He advanced down the pitch but didn't account for some sharp turn from Samuels and Ramdin did the rest.
Over 11 - England 70/5 (Bopara 25, Stokes 3)
Bopara lofts the first six of England's innings from a Sammy full toss. Need a few more of those.
Over 10 - England 58/5 (Bopara 15, Stokes 1)
Charles was originally on the field for Badree, who hurt his finger when dropping Morgan earlier and has stayed on after Narine went off with his knee problem. Stokes joins Bopara in the middle with England in crisis.
Morgan c sub (Charles) b Samuels 19
Morgan gets a fair chuck of wood on a slog sweep in Samuels' first over but sub fielder Charles hauls in another good catch, reaching above his head and then doing well to stay inside the rope at deep square-leg.
Over 9 - England 53/4 (Morgan 18, Bopara 12)
Bravo on for the first time and Bopara takes an instant liking, driving for a couple of fours. England need 118 from 66 balls (required-rate: 10.72).
Over 8 - England 43/4 (Morgan 17, Bopara 3)
Narine required treatment to his right knee after the fall of Buttler's wicket. He caught his studs in the turf while sliding during the previous over. Looked nasty but he's hobbling on for the time being. Bopara gets off the mark with an edge between wicketkeeper Ramdin and first slip. West Indies coach Ottis Gibson signals for Narine to come off the fielder at the end of the over.
Buttler c sub (Charles) b Narine 0
Buttler departs for a three-ball duck, caught by sub fielder Johnson Charles reaching above his head at backward point from a reverse sweep.
