Warwickshire and Middlesex settled for a battle for bonus points as their rain-affected LV= County Championship ended in a draw at Edgbaston.
The match was effectively over once Warwickshire saved the follow on by reaching 279 during the 12 minutes of play that were possible before lunch.
The weather improved after the interval which allowed Tim Murtagh (5-85) to complete his second five-wicket haul of the season, and help Middlesex secure a second bowling point.
Rikki Clarke's aggressive unbeaten 66, meanwhile, helped Warwickshire to reach 374-8 and collect two more batting points.
Warwickshire secured their fourth batting point in the last over that the bonus points were available when Boyd Rankin squirted Murtagh wide of Ollie Rayner at second slip at catchable height for four.
Clarke had tried to farm the bowling to shield Rankin but he lost the strike and left the Irishman with four balls to face from Murtagh to take Warwickshire to 350.
They decided to bat on which gave Middlesex the chance to take another wicket and collect a third bowling point, but Rankin safely saw out the over and went on to share an entertaining ninth-wicket stand of 36 with Clarke.
It was, in effect, Warwickshire's last-wicket partnership as Laurie Evans was unable to resume his innings having suffered a broken left hand batting against Finn on Friday.
Although Middlesex took 10 points from a rain-ruined game, Warwickshire will be satisfied with their eight-point haul having been on the back foot for most of the match with an injury-depleted attack.
