Northamptonshire moved off the foot of Group C in the Clydesdale Bank 40 with a comfortable eight-wicket win over the Unicorns at Wormsley.
The visitors easily chased down a below-par target of 164 with eight wickets and 46 balls to spare, Alex Wakely leading the way with an unbeaten 52 that saw him find the boundary on seven occasions.
Opener Kyle Coetzer did fall early for 16 but Rob Newton struck 45 at faster than a run-a-ball rate, dominating a second-wicket stand worth 54.
Once Newton was bowled by Bradley Wadlan, David Sales came to the crease to smash 47 off 40 balls to bring the game to a rapid conclusion.
The Unicorns had earlier been restricted to 163-8 from their 34 overs, the game having been delayed by the weather.
They made a solid start thanks mainly to some strong hitting from opener Wadlan, who managed 41 off just 40 balls in an opening partnership of 63 with Vishal Tripathi.
However once he departed, trapped lbw by James Middlebrook, the innings began to unravel, with only James Ord (38) making a strong contribution in the middle order.
Lee Daggett claimed 4-39 to peg back the Unicorns while experienced off-spinner Middlebrook weighed in with 3-14.
