Luke Wright blasted 91 to help Sussex record a 21-run victory over South Group strugglers Middlesex at Hove on Friday night.
The Sharks followed up their 11-run win over the same opponents at Lord's last Sunday with an even more comfortable success at the County Ground.
Wright was the mainstay of their total of 161-4 as he hit seven fours and two sixes during his 61-ball innings. He appeared on course for a century before the hosts became bogged down in the final five overs of their innings.
Chris Nash (19) helped get them off to a strong start, putting on an opening stand of 40 from 27 balls, and Matt Machan made a run-a-ball 22 during a 53-run partnership for the second wicket.
Wright hit former team-mate Ollie Rayner straight down the ground for a maximum and hit an even bigger six off Neil Dexter.
Looking to avoid a fourth defeat in five outings, Middlesex got off to a steady start in their reply thanks to John Simpson (32) and Joe Denly (36).
But spinners Will Beer (2-24) and Mike Yardy (2-30) turned the game back in Sussex's favour, the former getting Denly to hit straight down the throat to deep midwicket to end the Panthers' opening stand of 62.
Simpson followed soon after for 32 and although Steven Crook briefly offered his county a glimmer of hope with a big six off Beer, he was then bowled by Yardy for 19.
Dawid Malan did contribute 25 but the Middlesex innings petered out in the second half, the visitors eventually finishing up on 140-6.
