    MATCH DRAWN

Well that's upsetting. For a moment there it looked like Sri Lanka were going to chase this down. Guess they'll rather take the draw than risk a loss. Oh well. Such is life. It's been an epic series, though and the hosts will be quite pleased with their 2-0 victory.

  •

    FORGET THAT

It's been called a draw. Everybody shake hands and waddle off the field. What an anti-climax!

  •

    Over 134 Ajmal 3-1-1-0-0-0

391-4 Three runs towards mid-off start off the over. a couple of singles follow and half a chance goes down as Mathews thumps one towards midwicket. It drops short of the fielder but he didn't really make much of an effort to get there. Drinks now. 101 needed off 15 overs. 40 minutes remain, though.

  •

    Over 133 Kaneria 0-2-0-1-0-0

386-4 So when are Sri Lanka going to start throwing their bats? If Dilshan is padded up that must mean they have the intention of having a crack.

  •

    Over 132 Ajmal 0-0-2lb-0-0-0

383-4 Just two leg byes from the over. Dilshan is padded up by the way. Amusing.

  •

    Over 131 Kaneria 0-0-1-1-0-0

381-4 Much more subdued over this. Just a couple of singles coming from it.

  •

    Over 130 Ajmal 6-0-0-0-4-0

379-4 Gosh. As predicted, there he goes. Mathews comes down the track and charges a tossed up delivery. He whacks it over the long-on fence for six! He gets four more as the ball edges past the leg slip. He got lucky there but these runs will help. Are Sri Lanka chasing this? 100-run stand between these two. Lovely! Sri Lanka need to go at 5.94 from here if they want to win it. They've taken 17 runs off the last two overs.

  •

    Over 129 Kaneria 4-0-1-1-1-0

369-4 And what fine style to bring up your maiden half ton. Mathews drives through midwicket and all the way to the fence, he plays that shot so beautifully. What an innings this man has played. Absolutely crucial. The batsman do well to rotate the strike and keep the runs flowing. Game on?

  •

    Over 128 Ajmal 0-0-0-0-0-0

362-4 Maiden over from Ajmal. Pakistan seem to be wanting to get through these overs as quick as possible. The general consensus in the office is that Mathews will take as long as he needs to get to his fifty and then have a thwack.

  •

    Over 127 Kaneria 1-0-0-0-0-0

362-4 TV folk reckon Sri Lanka are going for the win. Personally, I don't see that happening. Sanga takes a single wide of square leg and that's that from the over. Mathews his watchful.

    Over 126 Younis 0-0-0-0-0-1

362-4 Khan comes around the wicket. There's just one slip. Sanga takes a single towards fine leg. I suspect that Mathews is trying to get to his 50. Either that or Sri Lanka are planning an attack.

  •

    Over 125 Ajmal 0-0-2-0-0-1

360-4 Sanga takes a couple with an edge past the slips and concludes the over with a single to ensure they keep the strike. The captains have decided to continue, they seem to think a result is till possible.

  •

    Over 124 Younis 0-0-0-2-0-0

357-4 Just a couple of runs from the over - edged past square leg.

  •

    Over 123 Ajmal 0-0-1-0-0-1

355-4 Just a couple of singles from the over, no urgency from the hosts.

  •

    Over 122 Younis 0-0-0-0-0-wd-0

353-4 The skipper brings himself into the attack and aside from the wide, there's nothing much to say. Sri Lanka still ignoring all deliveries which need not be played.

  •

    Over 121 Ajmal 0-1-0-0-0-1

352-4 Just two singles from the over. Have a feeling we'll probably have an early finish.

  •

    Over 120 Aamer 0-0-0-0-0-0

350-4 15 Overs to go before the captains can call it quits. It's a maiden.

  •

    Over 119 Ajmal 0-1-0-0-0-0

350-4 A single from the over, worked towards long-on by Mathews. 31 overs remain in the day now.

  •

    Over 118 Aamer 0-0-0-0-0-0

349-4 Two slips and a gully and bowler is pitching in wide outside off. It's a maiden over. The batsman aren't interested in playing anything that doesn't need to be played.

  •

    Over 117 Ajmal 1-0-0-1-0-0

349-4 Runs are drying up now. Mathews takes a single between middle and leg and Sanga takes one towards deep point.
