Somerset beat Worcestershire by 84 runs

Justin Langer led from the front in Somerset's 84-run victory over Worcestershire in the FP Trophy.

The Sabres captain stroked 117 from 131 balls to lead his side to a total of 278-9 after they were asked to bat.

Ian Blackwell (53) helped his skipper add 114 for the fourth wicket to repair the early trouble of 32-3.

Despite a brave innings of 92 from Daryl Mitchell, the Pears were bowled out for 194 in reply.

Somerset medium pacers Peter Trego (3-37) and Steffan Jones (3-36) both claimed three wickets.
