Twenty20 Cup - Midlands/West/Wales Division
Northamptonshire 49-0 v Somerset
Somerset and Northamptonshire are still stuck together at the top of the Midlands/Wales/West Group after their Twenty20 Cup clash at Taunton was ruined by rain.
Only five overs of play were possible before a heavy downpour, which was accompanied by thunder and lightning, left the outfield too wet for any further action.
The players had already been off the field once before, a shower after 14 balls forcing umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Richard Illingworth to halt play.
The Steelbacks had made a positive start to their innings before the weather ruined the contest, racing to 49 without loss after deciding to bat first.
Ian Harvey hit 27 off 15 balls with four fours and a six, while opening partner Rob White managed 21 off the same number of deliveries.
The no result means both sides pick up a point apiece, putting them one clear of Warwickshire and Worcestershire, who face each other on Friday.
