Scotland's hopes of reaching next year's World Twenty20 in Bangladesh suffered a blow after they opened their qualifying campaign with an 18-run defeat to Bermuda at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Despite captain Kyle Coetzer top-scoring in the match with 37, Scotland slumped to 131 all out, with only Richie Berrington (29) and Rob Taylor (26) the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
They appeared well placed for victory after restricting Bermuda, who won the toss, to 149-7, with Iain Wardlaw, Majid Haq and Gordon Goudie each taking two wickets.
But Janeiro Tucker and Jacobi Robinson took three scalps apiece as several batsmen let the Scots down.
All is not lost for Coetzer's side, however, with six countries still to qualify for the expanded 16-team World Twenty20 tournament.
