A sharp 62 from Paul Valthaty and a bristling knock from Shaun Marsh propelled Kings XI Punjab to a 29-run win over Delhi Daredevils.
After the hosts posted a total of 170-6 in Dharamsala, Piyush Chawla bagged 3-16 to restrict the visitors to 141-8 and seal the win.
After losing fellow opener Adam Gilchrist (18) Valthaty put on 102 for the second wicket with Australian Marsh, striking six fours and three sixes before he was undone by Irfan Pathan.
Marsh smashed five boundaries and three sixes himself to reach 46 in 28 deliveries, including clobbering left-arm spinner Sridharan Sriram for 24 runs in one over.
Delhi began promisingly in reply, Australian David Warner (29) and Naman Ojha (28) putting on 52 for the first wicket.
But the visitors failed to capitalise on such a promising start, losing five wickets in the space of 40 runs to leave themselves on 92-5.
Seamer Shalabh Srivastava dismissed both the openers in successive overs before Chawla claimed two wickets and seamer Valthaty got his revenge on Pathan.
James Hopes fell in the following over for the addition of just five runs to the total and Travis Birt (16) and Yogesh Nagar (10) followed soon after.
