Friends Provident Trophy - Group A
Worcestershire 180-8 v Ireland 128-9 (P R Stirling 51)
Worcestershire beat Ireland by 52 runs
Worcestershire moved top of FP Trophy Group A with a 52-run success against Ireland in Belfast.
In a match reduced to 33 overs due to inclement weather, the Royals comfortably defended a score of 180-8 to maintain their 100 percent record after two games in the competition.
Opener Steven Davies' 47 laid the platform for a respectable total and Gareth Andrew provided a late flourish by hammering 23 off just 12 balls.
Ireland off-spinner Kyle McCallan recorded figures of 3-33, including the wicket of Davies, from a seven-over stint.
Despite a battling half-century from 18-year-old Paul Stirling, the hosts' run chase finished well short at 128-9.
Stirling hit three fours and three sixes while compiling 51 off 73 balls before being stumped after giving the charge to occasional off-spinner Vikram Solanki (1-9), one of eight Worcestershire players to turn their arm over.
