India vs Sri Lanka
End of innings
Sri Lanka played what could be described as almost the perfect game and gave a very under par Indian team a complete hiding. The final margin of victory was 161 runs. India will have to do some sole searching and bounce back in their last two matches of the series.
Over 45 - Ind 187 all out (Yadav 0, Jadeja 49)
WICKET. Malinga Knocked over Yadav to end the game. Jadeja is left stranded on 49.
Over 44 - Ind 184/9 (Yadav 0, Jadeja 46)
Jadeja is leaving the ball outside the off-stump and is playing as if this is a practise situation. Kulasekara is worked through the on-side and Jadeja creeps towards a half century.
Over 43 - Ind 178/9 (Yadav 0, Jadeja 41)
Malinga comes back to wrap up the innings. Jadeja is turning down singles in order to farm the strike. It looks as if all he is worried about is improving his average.
Over 42 - Ind 173/9 (Yadav 0, Jadeja 36)
The commentators at the ground are so uninterested by the Indian batting effort that they are talking about the birds on the out skirts of the stadium.
Over 41 - Ind 168/9 (Yadav 0, Jadeja 31)
Jajeda finally injects some life into what is a lifeless situation. He launches Herath over long-on for six. WICKET. A beautiful delivery dips, turns and takes the outside edge of Sharma's bat. Sangakkara takes a good catch behind the stumps.
Over 40 - Ind 159/8 (Ishant 2, Jadeja 23)
The spinner is now giving the ball a lot more air trying to encourage a big shot, but the Indians are not interested. The required rate is now 19 runs an over.
Over 39 - Ind 156/8 (Ishant 1, Jadeja 21)
Ishant is attempting to defeat the Malinga over. This is rather pointless as India are not even trying to increase the scoring rate. There is very little that can be achieved by this mindset.
Over 38 - Ind 153/8 (Ishant 0, Jadeja 19)
The off-spinner continues. he is the only bowler not to have taken a wicket yet, so it will be good for his confidence to pick up a few sticks. WICKET. He gets his wicket as Ashwin attempts a reverse-sweep nut spoons a simple catch to point. WICKET. Ahmed is clean bowled first ball and Senanayake is now on a hat-trick. Ishant plays and misses, but survives the hat-trick delivery.
Over 37 - Ind 152/6 (Ashwin 4, Jadeja 18)
Malinga is given another burst. He would like to wrap things up. The quick is focused on crushing some toes, but it is maybe a little too predictable. A single finally brings up the 150.
Over 36 - Ind 147/6 (Ashwin 2, Jadeja 15)
The batting power play has to be taken now. Senanayake is given the chance to have another bowl. There is no use in blocking, the Indian players may as well throw caution to the wind.
Over 35 - Ind 145/6 (Ashwin 1, Jadeja 14)
Herath starts another over in what has been a special spell. he has been helped though by the fact that the Indian batsman have nbot looked to put him under too much pressure.
Over 34 - Ind 143/6 (Ashwin 0, Jadeja 13)
Mathews brings himself back for what may be his final spell. He has had a wonderful day with bat, ball and as captain. WICKET. The batsmen try to steal an over-throw and Raina is run out.
Over 33 - Ind 138/5 (Raina 30, Jadeja 11)
Raina backs away and plays a classical cover drive, earning himself four runs. Raina is the one batsman so far that has been able to score at a decent clip. An expensive over has somewhat smudged Herath's figures.
Over 32 - Ind 129/5 (Raina 23, Jadeja 9)
The Sri Lankan opening bowler continues to hit an uneasy length for the batsmen. The batsmen look to have no believe whatsoever.
Over 31 - Ind 125/5 (Raina 21, Jadeja 7)
Herath starts another over well. All the batsmen have found it difficult to get the spinner away. Just a solitary single off the over pushes the required rate even higher.
Over 30 - Ind 124/5 (Raina 21, Jadeja 6)
Kulasekara returns to bowling crease. Immediately the bowler finds a good length and the ball is stopping on the batsmen, making stroke-play very difficult. India need 279 in order to prevent Sri Lanka from achieving a bonus point. A rare over-pitched delivery is clipped nicely for a boundary.
Over 29 - Ind 119/5 (Raina 21, Jadeja 1)
WICKET. Karthik is not as lucky as he is stumped off the bowling of Herath. The batsmen ran down the pitch, under obvious pressure, had a hoik and missed. A great over represents another nail in the Indian coffin.
Over 28 - Ind 118/4 (Raina 21, Karthik 22)
The off-spinner has struggled a little bit today, and he starts another over with a wide delivery which is cut for four by Raina. Raina survives a huge lbw appeal. He is very lucky to still be out there. Hawk-eye confirms it was stone dead. Pitching in line, hitting the shin-bone in line, and going on to hit the middle stump.
