India top Group B after labouring to a five-wicket victory over Ireland in Bangalore. The 207 total set was well below par, however Ireland will feel another 50 or so runs would have given them a realistic chance of winning. Yuvraj was the star of the show, claiming 5-31 before finishing unbeaten on 50.

    Over 46 Mooney 1-0-1-4-1-4

210-5 - Yuvraj brings up the India 200 with a powerful single down the ground and then moves within one run of his 50 with a short-arm jab over midwicket for four. What...a...shot! Another single takes him to the landmark, he has now become the first cricketer to get a five wicket haul and a 50 in the same World Cup match. And Pathan finishes the match in style, pulling Mooney through square leg for four. India win by five wickets.

    Over 45 Stirling 1-0-0-6-0-0

199-5 - The 'Butcher from Baroda' smashes his third six when Stirling overpitches and allows the India right-hander to get some elevation straight back down the ground. Pathan has raced on to 25 from 20 balls. India need nine more, Yuvjay needs seven for his 50...

    Over 44 Rankin 1-0-1-0-0-0

192-5 - Rankin cuts Yuvraj in half with a beauty that nips back into the left-hander. The Ireland opener has been impressive today and finishes with figures of 0-34 from his 10 overs.

    Over 43 Stirling 0-0-1-0-0-1

190-5 - Cheers of delight as a single from Yuvraj brings Pathan back on strike. Stirling does not offer up the same flight that Dockrell did, though, and only two runs come off the over. 18 needed for victory... or five wickets

    Over 42 Rankin 1lb-1-0wd-0wd-1-0-0-0

188-5 - There is a huge buzz around the ground now as the finishing line is in sight. There are groans of disappointment though, as Pathan fails to produce the same fireworks from the previous over. Five off the over. 28 required off 48 balls.

  • Over 41 Dockrell W-0-4-6-0-6

183-5 - WICKET! Well, is this game about to take a late twist? Dockrell has dismissed Dhoni for 34 - trapped lbw! The India skipper challenged the decision, however replays confirmed that the ball was destined for middle and leg. Tension has crept into the ground as Pathan strides out to the middle. Any nerves are soon eased though, Pathan delivering what the paying public have been waiting for! First he jumps all over a rare short ball from Dockrell, pulling him high over midwicket for a one-bounce four. He's not done there though, launching two almighty sixes back down the ground to finish the over. Wow!

    Over 40 Rankin 1-1-1-1-0-1

167-4 - India are literally doing this in singles! It is far from gripping viewing, however the home fans don't seem to mind. 41 needed from 60 balls at 4.10 an over. Batting powerplay still on offer.

    Over 39 Dockrell 1-1-1-0-1-0

162-4 - All too easy for India now. 46 required for victory and Dhoni and Yuvraj seem determined to see it through to the end.

    Over 38 Cusack 0-2-1-0-4-1

158-4 - India move exactly 50 runs away from the victory total following another handy over. Yuvraj played arguably the shot of the match during the latest six balls, powering a leg stump full toss through midwicket for a boundary

    Over 37 Stirling 1-0-1-1-0-0

150-4 - A couple of landmarks are brought up in over 37. The 50 partnership between Yuvraj and Dhoni and the India 150 are both brought up by a Dhoni single.

    Over 36 Cusack 0-0-0-1-1-1

147-4 - Porterfield opts for a more aggressive field in the hope of forcing India into a mistake. The homes side seem happy to win this in singles though, much to mine and the packed-out crowd's frustration!

    Over 35 Stirling 0-1-1-2-0wd-0-0

144-4 - The wheels are coming off a little here for Ireland as overthrows and wides start to creep in. Ireland desperately need a wicket...

    Over 34 Cusack 1-0-0-4-1-1

139-4 - Yet another change as the medium pace of Cusack is introduced in place of Rankin. His opening over starts off well, however Dhoni uses his powerful bat to force a full delivery back down the ground for a boundary off the fourth ball. India require another 69 runs at 4.3 an over.

    Over 33 Dockrell 0-0-1-1-0-0

132-4 - So nearly another wicket for Dockrell as Dhoni is beaten by a peach of a delivery from the left-armer. Angling in from around the wicket, the ball gripped and spun agonisingly close to the India skipper's outside edge and so nearly had him caught behind.

    Over 32 Rankin 0-1-0-1-1-0

130-4 - More of the same in Bangalore as Yuvraj (24no) and Dhoni (15no) milk the singles

    Over 31 Dockrell 1-0-1-1-2-2

127-4 - Well, my mini rant seems to have woken India up a little. Some quick running turns a one into two as Dockrell's return over costs seven. It could easily have cost even more had it not been for a brilliant one-handed stop by Kevin O'Brien on the long on boundary last ball up.

    Over 30 Rankin 0-0-0-0-0-0

120-4 - Well, I'm running out of words to describe this India batting performance. They have been so lacklustre so far in this innings and have shown no urgency whatsoever. Does anyone want to win this World Cup?!?! Maiden for Rankin.

    Over 29 White 1-0-0-0-1-0

120-4 - Ireland's fielders are backing up their bowlers superbly with some fine stops inside the circle. Yuvraj appears to be getting increasingly agitated as he has to settle for singles instead of boundaries.
