Jim Allenby's all-round heroics lit up Cardiff on Friday evening as Glamorgan Dragons earned a six-wicket win over Gloucestershire Gladiators in the Friends Provident t20.
Medium pacer Allenby claimed 3-23 with the ball as the Gladiators were restricted to 148-6 after opting to bat first.
Opener James Franklin hit 42 off 30 balls but was one of Allenby's victims as the visitors failed to build on early momentum, having been 50-1 after six overs.
Glamorgan overhauled their target from the first ball of the final over.
Allenby gave the run chase a flying start with 54 off 45 balls but his dismissal in the 16th over, bowled trying to reverse sweep left-arm spinner Vikram Banerjee (1-21), reduced the Dragons to 114-4 and left the game in the balance.
An unbroken 37-run, fifth-wicket partnership between Gareth Rees (32no) and David Brown (14no) got the hosts home with five balls to spare - much to the delight of a 7,424 crowd at the Swalec Stadium.
