England vs West Indies

Women's World Cup: England thrash West Indies to advance to Super Six

Anya Shrubsole: England seamer finished with a career-best haul

Heather Knight: saw England home with 18 not out

Defending champions England booked their place in the Super Six at the women's World Cup with a six-wicket victory over West Indies in their final Group A fixture.

Seam bowler Anya Shrubsole claimed a career-best 4-21 as West Indies were bowled out for 101 in 36.4 overs after opting to bat first at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

England through to super six

Shrubsole and new-ball partner Katherine Brunt (2-10) reduced West Indies to 31-6 in the 15th over before Kyshona Knight (33) and Shanel Daley (30no) forged a seventh-wicket stand of 58.

Medium pacer Arran Brindle had Knight stumped and cleaned up the tail for figures of 3-0 from two overs.

Opener Danielle Wyatt led England's run chase with 40 and, despite a three-wicket burst from seamer Deandra Dottin (3-20), Heather Knight (18no) saw them across the winning line with 15 overs to spare.

India eliminated

West Indies also qualified for the Super Six, with host nation India the team to miss out from Group A after they went down to a 138-run defeat against Sri Lanka.

Deepika Rasangika's 84 powered Sri Lanka up to 282-5 and India - who had beaten England in their opening game - collapsed to 144 all out in reply.

In Group B, Australia secured top spot with their third straight win, a seven-wicket success over New Zealand, who progressed in second place.

South Africa secured the final Super Six spot thanks to a 126-run victory against Pakistan, Marizanne Kapp was the star of the show with 102 not out.
