Delihi Daredevils booked their place in the Indian Premier League play-offs with a comfortable five-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab.
The current table-toppers chased down a target of 137 with an over to spare thanks mainly to an unbeaten half-century from Mahela Jayawardene.
The Sri Lankan hit eight fours in his knock of 56 not out that steadied the hosts after they had at one stage slipped to 37-4 at the start of their reply.
Naman Ohja (34) helped add 58 for the fifth-wicket to get the Daredevils back on course before Irfan Pathan, who finished up unbeaten on 19, rushed his side towards victory with three fours in the 18th over.
Umesh Yadav had earlier helped peg back the Kings XI, taking 3-21 from his four overs to restrict the visitors to 136-8 from their 20 overs.
Skipper David Hussey top-scored with 40 not out from 35 deliveries, the Australian hitting a six and five fours, but the Punjab batsmen struggled to break the shackles throughout their innings.
Openers Mandeep Singh (21), Shaun Marsh (13) both started positively before perishing to Varun Aaron, who claimed 2-19 from his four-over spell.
Nitin Saini (15) and Piyush Chawla (10) were the only other players to make it into double figures for the Kings XI. The defeat leaves them in serious danger of making it to the knockout stages of the competition.
