Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 465 runs

Tillakaratne Dilshan starred with both bat and ball as Sri Lanka crushed Bangladesh by 465 runs in Chittagong to seal a 2-0 series win.

Dilshan stroked 143, his second century of the game, before the tourists declared their second innings on 447-6 at lunch on day four.

Chasing a target of 624, Bangladesh promptly collapsed to 158 all out with Dilshan bagging career-best figures of 4-10.

The hosts' top order subsided to 52-5, including three wickets for off-spinner Ajantha Mendis (3-57) to give him seven in the match.

Mushfiqur Rahim (43) and Shakib Al Hasan (46) briefly counter-attacked with a 92-run stand in 16.4 overs either side of tea.

But the introduction of Dilshan's occasional off-spinners hastened the end with a spell that featured four wickets in 19 balls.

Earlier, Sri Lanka had resumed at 296-4 in their second innings and batted throughout the morning to add a further 148 runs to their already dominant position.

Dilshan quickly turned his overnight position of 81 into a seventh Test century, bringing up the landmark with a cut boundary off Shahadat Hossain's (1-92) bowling.

Thilan Samaraweera (77) had been trapped lbw in the fourth over of the day by Shakib's (1-79) left-arm spin to end a fifth-wicket alliance of 145.

Dilshan was bowled by left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jnr (2-109) for 143 but Chamara Kapugedara (57no) and Chaminda Vaas (19no) added 51 more in an unbeaten stand to take the Sri Lanka's advantage over 600 before the declaration finally came at the lunch interval.

Bangladesh have little time to regroup before the start of a triangular one-day series, also involving Zimbabwe, on January 10.
