Adam Gilchrist hit 85 not out to see Kings XI Punjab to a seven-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Opening batsman Gilchrist's 54-ball innings contained 10 fours and a six as the Kings XI chased down a target of 175 with 11 balls to spare.
The veteran Australian received support from Azhar Mahmood, who contributed 61 to a second-wicket stand of 118.
The Royal Challengers had earlier made a total of 174-5 after being invited to bat at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Chris Gayle (77) and Virat Kohli (57) put on 136 for the second wicket, while Parvinder Awana picked up 3-39 and Mahmood 2-24.
The result moves the Kings XI up to sixth place in the nine-team league on 12 points. The Royal Challengers remain in fourth on 16 points.
