Australia vs Pakistan
Australia Win By 135 Runs
Another convincing win by the hosts, who go four-nil up in the series with one match to come on Sunday. Harris the star of the show again and an all-round pathetic performance from the tourists, again.
Over 37.5 Harris 0-0-0-0-W
142-10 - Haddin bags his fifth catch of the day, Harris wraps up his five-for and Rao is gone.
Over 37 Hauritz 1-0-0-0-0-0
142-9 - I get the feeling the spinner is not trying to get the last wicket, in order for five-for hopeful Harris to do so at the other end.
Over 36 Harris 0-0-0-0-1-0
141-9 - Rao staves off the inevitable for a touch longer with some oh so dogged defence.
Over 35 Hauritz 0-1-1-W-0-0
140-9 - Wicket! Ajmal fanices a dip over midwicket, throwing the kitchen sink at his slog-sweep, missing and having his leg-stump pegged back. Last man in is Asif.
Over 34 Harris 0-1-0-1-0-0
138-8 - In search of his second ODI five-for, the bulky Queenslander cannot manage as much, for this over at least.
Over 33 McKay 0-0-1-1-0-0
136-8 - Ajmal enjoys a few big heaves - and why not in the situation he's in - but fails to make any contact. Dropped! A tough chance and Hopes can't hold on. Ajmal lifts a slower ball over the head of Hopes at mid off who gets a finger on it but just can't judge his jump well enough. An overthrow is conceded as Ajmal dabs the ball into the leg side, Marsh throws down the stumps and the ball ricochets away.
Over 32 Harris 0-0-0-1-0-0
132-8 - Ifthikar angles the ball down to third man for one. Ooh, Harris so nearly picks up his fifth wicket, missing the edge of Ajmal's bat by the smallest of margins.
Over 31 McKay 4-1-0-0-1-W
131-8 - Clint McKay returns to the attack. Afridi gets the powerplay off to a good start, hooking behind square for four. Sweetly driven wide of long off, but it is only a single. Ifthikar picks up a single to third man. WICKET! Afridi's brief salvo comes to an end. Looking to heave the ball into the leg side he splices it to Hauritz at short third man who takes a good catch running back.
Pakistan have decided to take the batting powerplay.
Over 30 Harris 0-W-W-0-0-0
125-7 - Akmal nearly gets himself run out, attempting a suicidal run to the bowler but after some good work Harris can't find the total. WICKET! Akmal looks to drop the ball on hi9s toes and rotate the strike, but he's hurried into the shot and the ball dribbles back onto his stumps. WICKE! Harris is on a hat-trick! Naved-ul-Hasan looks to work the ball into the off side and Harris finds the edge behind. The hat-trick ball is full and on target, but Ifthikar manages to keep it out. What an over, a double wicket maiden.
Over 29 Hauritz 1-2-6-6-2-0
125-5 - Akmal works the ball into the leg side and trots through for the single. Afridi goes for the big swip again - there's no holding back - and it picks up two wide of long on. What a hit, a massive six! Afridi comes down the track and deposits it in the second tier of the stand behind long on. Another one! Not hit quite as sweetly but it still finds the long on boundary. A touch more sedate this time as he turns the ball into the leg side for two. He goes again, this time looking to lift it over the off side, but fails to make contact.
Over 28 Harris W-0-0-1-4-4
108-5 - Wicket! Harris is back into the attack as Ponting looks to his strike bowler for the breakthrough. The bowler isn't quite needed though, as Alam runs himself out at the non-striker's end in a quest for a quick single. He puts in the dive but it's not quick enough to beat Hauritz's direct-hit from mid-off. Next in is Afridi, who gets off the mark with two wild swings and subsequent top edges over Haddin for back-to-back fours. Meanwhile, a streaker of sorts has made his way onto the ground but is quickly taken out of the game with a Jonah Lomu-esque tackle from one of the beefier security guards.
Over 27 Hauritz 1-2-1-0-1-0
99-4 - We remember well the carnage Afridi orchestrated at this very ground in 2005, and if these two bat it out for another 10 overs or so, the platform will be well set for more of the same for 'Boom Boom'.
Over 26 Hopes 0-1-0-0-0-4
94-4 - Hopes seems set for another good over before Umar opts to close the over with four smeared over cover.
Over 25 Hauritz 0-6-1-1-1-1
89-4 - Akmal decides it is time to tee off, cranking six high and hard over long-on, where a host of hands in the crowd go up for the psuedo catch but none of 'em hang on. Ultimately, one poor chap cops the ball to the face and looks worse for wear as he trods off to the medical tent. Pakistan are 89 for four at the halfway mark of their knock, with a further 189 runs needed at around seven and a half to the over.
Over 24 Hopes 0-0-1-2-1-0
79-4 - Alam continues is penchant for weak forward pokes, at least thwarting any possible away swing. Hussey fluffs his duty at cover, affording the left-hander a bonus run. We have not witnessed a boundary for almost 16 overs now. Ouch.
Over 23 Hauritz 1-1wd-0-1-1-0-2
75-4 - Haddin tries to fool the umpire into not giving a leg-side wide, but the official is having none of it and duly stretches his arms out wide. A short-leg fielder wouldn't be untoward here. Ponting and Hauritz should consider it.
Over 22 Hopes 0-1-0-0-1-1
69-4 - It aint' over until the Fat Lady sings, the old saying goes. And with the batting Powerplay in hand and Afridi still to come, anything is possible for Pakistan. For now though, they're at the mercy of Alam and Umar collective inability to find the fence.
Over 21 Hauritz 1-1-0-0-0-1
66-4 - Short third man puts in the dive but it's not long enough to stop Akmal from getting one away on the cut. Alam, who has really endured a scratchy time at the crease today, can't beat cover, midkwicket or point.
