Chicago Blackhawks wing Patrick Kane scored two third-period goals to move 1-0 ahead of the Minnesota Wild in their second-round Stanley Cup play-off clash.

Kane scored a brilliant one-hander to tie his side up at 2-2 before helping them see off the Wild 5-2.

The other game on Friday night was a little tighter as the New York Rangers went to overtime before seeing off the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2.

Derick Brassard scored the vital goal after Benoit Pouliot and Brad Richards had traded strikes with Lee Stempniak and James Neal.

The Rangers lead the series 1-0.
