The Montreal Canadiens survived an onslaught from the Boston Bruins to win Game One of the Eastern Conference second round 4-3 in double overtime.

The Bruins had a total of 98 shot attempts, with Carey Price saving 48, but in the end it was PK Subban's power-play goal 4:17 into the second overtime which settled it in Montreal's favour at the TD Garden.

It was Subban's second goal of the night, both coming on power-plays. His first opened the scoring before Rene Bourque doubled Montreal's lead in the second period.

Reilly Smith and Torey Krug scored to bring Boston level early in the the third, and although Francis Bouillon put Montreal back in front, Johnny Boychuk scored late on to force overtime.
