Andrew Lord fired in an overtime winner as the Cardiff Devils hit back to beat the Nottingham Panthers 4-3 in the Elite League.

Joe Grimaldi opened the scoring for the Panthers, but the Devils hit back through Max Birbraer.

Nottingham re-established themselves courtesy of goals from Jon Boxill and Lynn Loyns, which gave them a 3-1 advantage with less than six minutes remaining.

But Cardiff came storming back as Mac Faulkner and Tomas Kurka scored to send the game to overtime, with Lord firing home the winner.

The loss meant the Panthers missed an opportunity to move above Dundee and into third in the standings but for Devils, their fourth league win on the bounce moves them nine points clear of Fife.
