Paul Maurice: Made winning start
Paul Maurice made a winning start to life at Winnipeg as the Jets stormed to a 5-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.
Maurice took charge after Claude Noel was sacked on Sunday, and he made the ideal start - despite Oliver Ekman-Larsson giving Phoenix an early lead.
Olli Jokinen and Eric O'Dell ensured the Jets ended the first period ahead and they did not look back after further strikes from Blake Wheeler, Michael Frolik and Devin Setoguchi.
Nathan Horton and Mark Letestu both scored in the final period as the Columbus Blue Jackets edged out the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.
The Lightning were 2-1 ahead thanks to Alex Killorn's 12th strike of the season and Victor Hedman's ninth cancelled out Ryan Johansen's opener.
The momentum looked to be with Tampa Bay, who had lost just once in 18 matches while leading heading into the final period, but Horton levelled early on before Letestu's powerplay goal sealed victory with two minutes and 38 seconds left.
Karri Ramo earned his first NHL shutout while goals from Mikael Backlund and Sean Monahan sealed a 2-0 win for the Calgary Flames against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Dustin Brown's 10th goal of the season early in the third period proved decisive as the Los Angeles Kings edged to a 1-0 success over the Vancouver Canucks.
