The Edinburgh Capitals turned the Elite League tables on leaders Belfast Giants with a second successive win, their 5-3 victory coming after they had ended a run of 13 straight defeats with a win last week.
Evan Cheverie hit a hat-trick for the visitors with the Edinburgh goals coming from Jade Portwood, Tomas Horna, Peter Holecko and a double from player-coach Richard Hartmann.
Sheffield Steelers took the points from a close-fought encounter with bitter rivals Nottingham Panthers but did not make the 5-3 victory safe until they netted a late goal.
David Clarke gave the Panthers the lead but the Steelers then missed a penalty shot through Robert Dowd before Jeff Legue equalised. Chad Langlais and Jonathan Phillips scored to put the Steelers in control before Clarke got his second.
Langlais restored his side's two-goal lead, Jonathan Weaver netted for Nottingham but another Legue goal sealed the win.
Hull Singrays' Ben Bowns made 40 saves in the 3-2 win which ended Braehead Clan's seven-game winning streak.
Joe Culled marked his debut with the opener for the home side but Carl Lauzon levelled matters for the Stingrays.
Jereme Tendler put the visitors ahead and then Stingrays player-coach Sylvain Cloutier extended the advantage. Ed McGrane got a late consolation for the Clan.
Coventry Blaze ended a run of three straight losses with a 4-2 home win over Cardiff Devils.
Coventry scored through Michael Henrich, Michael Devin, Carl Tanaka and Adam Henrich. Tomas Kurka and Andrew Lord replied for the Devils.
