Teemu Selanne: Opened his account for the season
Teemu Selanne scored his first goal of the season as the Anaheim Ducks extended their winning streak to five matches after edging out the Calgary Flames 3-2.
Dustin Penner and Kyle Palmieri gave the Ducks a 2-0 lead and although Lee Stempniak pulled one back for Calgary, Selanne restored his side's two-goal lead.
It proved the crucial score, despite Jiri Hudler pulling one back, as the Ducks claimed a fifth win in their first six matches for the first time in their two-decade history.
Two assists from Brad Richards helped the New York Islanders to a 2-0 victory over the Washington Capitals.
Richards set up both Ryan Callahan and John Moore within the space of two minutes while Henrik Lundqvist earned his first shutout of the season, making 22 saves.
