New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur scored his second regular-season goal to help his side to a 4-1 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Brodeur also made 17 saves on his return to action after a month on the sidelines with a back and neck injury.

Adam Henrique, Peter Harrold and Andrei Loktionov were also on target as the Devils snapped a three-game losing run, while Jeff Skinner netted for the Hurricanes.

Florida, the league's bottom side, enjoyed a 3-1 success against the New York Rangers, rookie goaltender Jacob Markstrom making 44 saves for the Panthers.

Kari Lehtonen made 40 saves and registered his first shutout of the season in the Dallas Stars' 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings, while Jordan Schroeder notched the tie-breaking goal to earn the Vancouver Canucks a 2-1 triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes.
