Mark Garside: Notched two assists for Belfast Giants
Belfast Giants secured a 5-3 away victory over Cardiff Devils to narrow the gap to Nottingham Panthers at the top of the Elite League standings.
Chad Langlais proved to be the difference for the Giants, scoring twice including a crucial strike late in the third period which killed the contest off.
Cardiff had got off to a dream start as they moved into a 2-0 lead with just 1.45 played before Darryl Lloyd hit back for the visitors.
The Giants turned things around in the second period, scoring twice to take a 3-2 lead, then added a fourth goal in the third. Stuart MacRae pulled one back for the Devils before Langlais finished things off.
Belfast are now just two points behind table-toppers Nottingham, but they have played a game more than the Panthers.
Elsewhere, third-placed Sheffield Steelers also enjoyed an away win, going to Dundee Stars and securing a 3-1 triumph, with Canadian Jeff Legue scoring twice.
Todd Dutiaume scored the decisive goal as Fife Flyers beat Coventry Blaze 3-2 and Sunday's other game finished with the same score, Hull Stingrays seeing off Braehead Clan thanks to three first-period goals.
