Jereme Tendler netted all four goals as Hull Stingrays overcame Edinburgh Capitals 4-3 after overtime in the Elite League.

The result now leaves the Stingrays just two points behind the Capitals.

A Jade Portwood double twice put Edinburgh in front, while Marcis Zembergs netted the third for the Scottish side.

This wasn't enough, though, as the performance of Tendler ensured a vital win for Hull.

In the Challenge Cup, Nottingham Panthers advanced to the semi-finals after a convincing 8-4 aggregate win over Fife Flyers.

The Panthers cruised to a 5-2 win on the night in front of their home crowd and they will now meet Belfast in the next round.

Brandon Benedict had a superb game bagging a brace for Nottingham. Robert Lachowicz, David Clarke and Pat Galivan scored the other three for the home side, while Jeff Caister netted both consolation goals for the Flyers.

In the other quarter-final, Sheffield Steelers romped to a 7-0 win against Dundee Stars.

The Steelers headed in to the second leg having to overcome a 4-2 deficit.

Sheffield's goals came courtesy of Shawn Limpwright, Simon Ferguson (2), Jeff Legue, Tylor Michel, Rod Sarich and Jonathan Phillips
