Jade Galbraith scored the winning strike as Braehead Clan booked their place in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup with a 6-5 aggregate win over Coventry Blaze.

The teams entered the second leg level at 2-2, in front of an expectant Braehead crowd. The Clan duly delivered with a 4-3 win.

However the night started badly for the Clan as the Blaze stormed into a two-goal lead. Brad Lebb netted the first goal after only 50 seconds, before Derek Campbell doubled their lead 21 seconds later.

The second period was a much better affair for the home team; Steve Birnstill got them back into the game with a strike after 25 minutes. Tom Hartmanis then drew the game level three minutes later.

Both teams entered the final period with every chance of winning. Coventry came out firing and re-took the lead through Dustin Cameron. Less than five minutes later the scores were tied again as Davide Nicoletti scored in the 57th minute to set up the finale that led to Galbraith's strike.

The Clan will now meet either Sheffield Steelers or Dundee Stars in the final.
