Sheffield Steelers beat Edinburgh Captials 3-2 after overtime with Tylor Michel scoring the winning strike.

The Steelers took the lead twice in the Scottish capital through goals from Simon Ferguson and Jason Hewitt.

Curtis Leinweber and Brent Patry kept the home side in the contest with the latter equalising with 16 seconds from time before Michel sealed it for the visitors.

Nottingham Panthers maintained their lead at the top of the standings with a 4-2 win at Cardiff Devils.

The Panthers grabbed themselves a two-goal lead through strikes from Bruce Graham and Pat Galivan

The Welsh outfit got back into the game through strikes from Mac Faulkner and Stuart Macrae.

The Devils' hard work was undone in the last minute as David Ling and Robert Lachowicz secured the match for Nottingham.

Elsewhere, the Dundee Stars suffered a 4-2 defeat at home to Braehead Clan

The Stars twice took the lead through Mike Wirll - but a superb hat-trick from defenceman David Nicoletti put the Clan in control.

Robert Farmer then claimed the insurance goal to ensure the result went the way of the away team.

Finally Fife Flyers destroyed Hull Stringrays 5-1 in front of their home fans.

The Stingrays did take the lead through Dominic Osman but that was as good as it got for Hull as the Flyers to hit back with strikes from Todd Dutiaume, Derek Keller, Jason Pitton, Bobby Chaumont and Kris Hogg.
