In the biggest Elite League shock this season, bottom-placed Edinburgh Capitals overcame an early deficit to triumph 2-1 over league leading Nottingham Panthers.
The Panthers risk their place at the top of the standings following last night's loss as Belfast have a game in hand.
David Ling put Nottingham ahead after just 81 seconds. Despite memories of a 10-0 whitewash in the first matchup, the Panthers failed to capitalise this time around.
In the second period, the game was tied up as Peter Holecko sent one into the home cage for the visitors.
Only three minutes into the third period and the Capitals scored again, taking the lead through Jason Beckett's goal.
Heroic defence from Tomas Hiadlovsky fended off a late offensive charge from the home team and helped seal the victory.
It was the second away victory in five days for the Scottish side, as the Capitals move to within one point of fellow strugglers the Hull Stingrays.
