Nottingham Panthers: Brandon Benedict helped his side to victory
The Nottingham Panthers opened up a two-point lead at the top of the Elite League after they battled back from two goals down to beat the Hull Stingrays 8-4.
The first period saw the visitors shoot out to a 3-1 lead yet the Panthers stormed back to secure a sixth straight win, with great offensive power seeing them grab the victory.
With the result boosting Panthers position in the League table; for Stingrays it was a fourth straight reversal.
Meanwhile, the Dundee Stars ended their six-game losing run 4-1 at home to the Braehead Clan.
The win provided the home side with a longed-for confidence boost after a recent bad run of form yet Clan's problems on the road continue, having only a single win from their last eight while travelling.
The Belfast Giants also won by the same scoreline in the league and Challenge Cup match at Edinburgh Capitals.
Having recovered well from their shock loss in Fife the previous night, Giants put in an impressive performance yet Capitals could not build on their great road win in Sheffield.
It meant the visitors remain the nearest challengers to top side Nottingham after picking up both league and Challenge Cup points.
