Sheffield Steelers tightened their grip on second place in the Elite League with a hard-fought 3-2 win at Edinburgh Capitals.

The Capitals are bottom of the league but they were heading for a surprise win as they led 2-1 with 12 minutes left to play.

But Sheffield steeled themselves and hit back to chalk up their fifth straight victory thanks to goals from Shawn Limpright and Steven Goertzen.

In Sunday's other games, Cardiff Devils eased to a 5-2 win over Coventry Blaze and Hull Stingrays eased their jitters at the wrong end of the table as they battled to an exciting 6-4 win over Braehead Clan.
