Victory for Chatez in the Betfred Silver Bowl at Haydock saw the bumper Scoop6 finally landed by eight tickets.

A total of 122 tickets were still standing going into the last leg, and celebrations began after Fergus Sweeney drove the Alan King-trained 7/1 chance to a half-length success from Zarwaan. Only Grevillea, of the 13 runners, was not covered by a potential winning line.

Each successful ticket picked up £1,342,599 and is eligible to play for the bonus fund next Saturday, which stands at a further £5,481,763.

Last weekend, Ladbrokes punter Joe Maguire came within a length and a quarter of claiming just short of £7million for his £8 stake when denied in the last race of six in the bet at Catterick.

The total pot in Satuday's win pool was £10,740,797 after the bet had rolled over for 12 weeks.

Jockey Fergus Sweeney said after creating eight millionaires: "I'll give them my address if they're interested."

And Sweeney believes Chatez could be a Royal Ascot contender.

He said: "We love this horse and he's never finished out of the first three. He's done everything right today and hopefully he might get in the Britannia (at Royal Ascot) now.''

Betfred reported that three of the winners were betting shop punters, of which one was a straight £2 line staked in a Betfred shop. The ownership of the other five tickets was still to be established.

A record-breaking total of £11,047,002 was staked on the bet on Saturday and there were 7327 winners of the consolation place dividend, which paid £301.50.
