Soumillon: Rode Prince Gibraltar to victory.
Prince Gibraltar showed a pretty startling shift of gear to win the Group Two Prix Greffulhe at Saint-Cloud.
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt came from last to first within a handful of strides to readily claim the respected Classic trial over a mile and a quarter.
Nolohay made most of the running, with Golden Guepard never too far away, as less than three lengths separated the five-runner field for a long way.
Prince Gibraltar was still last of quintet, and Norse Prize just ahead of him, as the pace intensified inside the final furlong and a half.
But once Christophe Soumillon nudged Rouget's inmate towards the near-side rail, the chestnut son of Rock Of Gibraltar required minimal steering to ease home ahead of a likely tilt at the French Derby.
