Module: Will return next season

Tom George is keen to forget an unlucky end to the campaign for Module at Punchestown on Tuesday and focus instead on next season for his smart chaser.

The campaign ended on an anti-climax as Module was badly hampered when the strongly-fancied favourite Hidden Cyclone came down at the fifth fence in the Champion Chase.

Jockey Barry Geraghty was left with no alternative but to call it a day and pull up Module.

The George team had gone to Ireland with high hopes and Module had been sent off the second favourite on the back of his late flourish at Cheltenham, which saw him almost snatch second place when third behind Sire De Grugy in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

What was galling for George was that Sizing Europe, who was three and a quarter lengths back in fourth place that day, went on to take Tuesday's Grade One honours.

"He's absolutely A1. He's not had much of the rub of the green in his last couple of runs and he's on holiday now," said the Slad trainer.

"We haven't had any luck with him in his last two races, so we just want to get him back on track, but he's fine. He'll have a good summer and we'll start again with him."
