Paul Nolan will consider letting Noble Prince turn out again at next week's Punchestown Festival following his fine effort in defeat at Cork on Sunday.

Having run well to finish seventh in the Coral Cup at last month's Cheltenham Festival, the 10-year-old switched back to the larger obstacles at the weekend and was beaten just half a length into second by Toner D'Oudairies in the Imperial Call Chase.

The son of Montjeu holds an entry in the Bibby Financial Services Ireland Punchestown Gold Cup and may yet take his chance.

Nolan said: "I was pleased with how he ran on Sunday. I thought at one stage he was going to win, but he still ran a good race and it's good that he seems to be getting a bit of consistency again.

"I was happy when he won in Thurles earlier in the season, but the form hasn't worked out great.

"He ran a cracker over hurdles in Cheltenham and then he wasn't stopping at the line in Cork the other day, so hopefully there are more days in him.

"Whether we go to Punchestown or not, we'll see.

"He's in the Gold Cup and we've also entered him in a handicap hurdle, so we'll see where we are what the ground is like nearer the time."
