Philip Hobbs has done well with the early high-profile runners from his Sandhills base, capping a bountiful run of form with Wishfull Thinking's triumph in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree.
This weekend, the spotlight could fall upon FINGAL BAY, a winner at this year's Cheltenham Festival and always held in the highest of regard by his handler.
He worked especially well on both the Hobbs all-weather strips the other day and looks tuned and focused for wherever he ends up this weekend.
WISHFULL THINKING, meanwhile, has taken his exertions well, and may head to Huntingdon for the Peterborough Chase.
GARDE LA VICTOIRE might have finished closer in his race at Aintree, but for a couple of sketchy jumps towards the business end.
LORD PROTECTOR is worth monitoring as he has been showing plenty of sparkle and is traditionally a horse that operates well fresh.
He is entered in a handicap hurdle at Ascot, while MOUNTAIN KING could run in a Listed race on the same card.
BROTHER TEDD and CATHERINES WELL both fell last time but after home practise on the jumping front should be out again soon.
MILOSAM is also in good nick, while PULL THE CHORD and DRY OL'PARTY, who runs at Taunton on Wednesday, should soon make their mark.
