Hillstar: Working well

Hillstar: Working well

Hillstar looked in good order ahead of his intended run at Sandown on Thursday as he worked in front of our gallops reporter.

HILLSTAR looked in good order in his winding-up work for the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown on Thursday as Sir Michael Stoute took the four-year-old to the Round Gallop.

Last season's King Edward VII Stakes winner engaged in good, solid work with the fast-improving ABSEIL, who could also run on the same Sandown card.

Both horses were urged and went past the watching trainer locked in unison.

ASTONISHING engaged in some solid work with STOMACHION, at the end of which the filly was travelling noticeably well

Equally good work occurred as TOP TUG (Kevin Bradshaw) was joined by RAPID ADVANCE (Ryan Moore) and GOOD VALUE.

Top Tug cut out the donkey work and gamely held sway right the way to the end.

The colt disappointed on his previous start at Newmarket but that display is probably best forgotten.

Stoute moved operations over the way to the Trial Ground to let his Investec Derby challenger SNOW SKY engage in some unexacting three-quarter speed work.

Snow Sky came past with DANK (Ryan Moore) and RYE HOUSE.

Dank is being brought back gradually with some high-profile targets awaiting the Breeders' Cup winner.

Kevin Bradshaw teamed up with TELESCOPE, who covered seven furlongs in company with BOLD SNIPER.

The pair quickened nicely on the bridle and could each form part of the Stoute team for Royal Ascot.
