I was over in Ireland for the Tattersalls Sale this week and came home with five new additions to the yard. Trade was again very strong but we're ready to do battle through the rest of the autumn.

I was thrilled to see Supplicant win the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury last week. Six furlongs on decent ground is clearly where he wants to be. He's improving all the time and is a great horse to have around.

He's been a little unlucky this season, Ryan Moore felt he should have won at Glorious Goodwood, and we'll certainly look at the Middle Park with him. I'll monitor the ground though, I wouldn't want to pay to supplement him if it looks like coming up quick.

We were sent two horses by Cheveley Park for the first time this season and both Supplicant and Dutch Courage have done us proud.

There's decent prize money on offer this weekend and we've plenty of runners, including one over jumps!

Jubilee Games has had terrible problems with the stalls so we're going to run him in the Win Big With The totejackpot Juvenile Hurdle at Market Rasen. The trip is obviously a major concern but he's schooled well and it's well worth having a go.

Onto the Flat now and Layla's Red Devil makes her debut in the Stella Artois Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Chester. She's quite a nice filly, one who will definitely win races, but whether she'll know enough to win first time out around here I wouldn't be sure.

We've two in the Betfair Supports Pride Of Racing Awards E.B.F. Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Haydock. Mrs P was very green on debut, we couldn't believe it, she looked like a lost sheep. She's a filly for mile-and-a-half races next year and needs more experience.

Quest Of Colour was another to show inexperience on debut and is another backward filly who will be better with time.

Gatepost has a horrendous draw in 16 for the Winter Wonderland At Chester Racecourse Handicap. He's been a little unlucky all season and deserves to pick up a decent pot but it will be hard from out wide there.

Come On Sunshine is out of Tagula Sunrise who we trained - but sadly doesn't look to have inherited any of her speed. We're running him over a mile in the E.B.F. Celebrating The Unsung Heroes Of Racing Maiden Stakes. He looks to be taking more after his father Authorized but needs to take a big step forward from debut to win here.

We've three in the sportingbet.com Handicap at Chester. I wouldn't really like to split them. Romantic Settings ran well in the Doonside Cup at Ayr and trip and ground will suit. Gabrial's Kaka has to show more here but Marwan Koukash was keen to run and he'd have claims at his best. We've been waiting for cut in the ground for Asgardella all year and hopefully she'll get a bit here.

Fair Flutter is a horse who will stay all day and all night. He has no weight in the Ripon Land Rover Nursery and if they go a good clip he'll certainly be plugging on at the finish.

Gabrial The Thug runs at Wolverhampton on Friday evening so we'll see how he goes there before deciding if he turns out quickly again in the Stella Artois Cidre Maiden Stakes at Chester.

El Viento is a funny horse, I don't know what to make of him. He gives you a bit but then takes back. If he's back to the form of his Chester win then he's a big player in the Ripon Cathedral City Of The Dales Handicap. I hope he does as it's a valuable £30,000 contest and he's definitely capable of going well.

Area Fifty One has been a star for us this season. If you'd asked me at the start of the campaign could he win a Cambridgeshire off 105 I'd have said no. I still think it's tough but we're claiming three pounds off with Willie Twiston-Davies which will help. He always tries his best but is definitely vulnerable to any improvers.

Arctic Feeling ran terribly the other day and I've no idea why. No excuses have come to light and it was very disappointing as I thought he had a chance. We try again in the Racing Welfare Pride Of Racing Handicap and on his best form would have a big chance. The last run is the worry.

Heskin has been disappointing. She didn't run any race last time so we're trying her in a hood in the Irish Stallion Farms 'Jersey Lily' E.B.F. Fillies' Nursery to see if that helps. She's well handicapped but hasn't been running to form of late. Hopefully the headgear will do the trick.

I've always felt Cosmic Halo was up to winning races again and wasn't that surprised to see him go in at York last time. They went a million miles an hour up front and he came through at the end and that's what he needs. He outstayed them. I hope the cards fall his way again in the Jockey Club #PrideofRacing E.B.F. 'Reprocolor' Fillies' Handicap at Haydock.

We've two in the Innospec Handicap at Chester. Alejandro has been done no favours by the draw in 11. He loves to go forward in his races but we may just have to drop him in from out there.

Rene Mathis has fared much better in two. He loves this track and deserves to win a race soon.

We're double handed in the 1st Security Solutions Handicap at Newmarket. Richard Hughes rides Majestic Moon who loves fast ground and hopefully conditions will be suitable for him.

Paul Hanagan is on Flyman who is a fresh horse. The ground should be okay for him too and he is capable of running very well here. We're pleased with him at home.

Kiama Bay has won a couple of races for us but had no excuses the other day in the Old Borough Cup and the handicapper could just have him. He's vulnerable to an improver but will run his race in the Bet365 Handicap at Haydock.

Gabrial The Master is a grand horse but a weak, backward sort who will be much better next year. I'd love to win with him as he's so consistent and potentially well handicapped and he'd have a shout in the Stella Artois Handicap at Chester.

Sunny Side Up has had a few little niggly problems, skin irritations and the like. She's coming back very fresh and very well and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see her run very well in the SIS Live Handicap at Ripon.

Brae Hill is a wonderful old horse who almost trains himself. He ran a great race at Ayr last week and is in great nick. He'll run well again in the Racing Welfare Handicap at Haydock if it doesn't come too soon for him.

Finally Divine Success faces his acid test in the Casino At bet365 Handicap at Wolverhampton. He hasn't shown much so far but the owner is keen to give him another try here. Unless he improves it could be his last race and retirement may beckon. We're double handed in the 1st Security Solutions Handicap at Newmarket.
