The beautifully bred Casual Smile caught the eye of our Gallops Reporter on a visit to Andrew Balding's yard at Kingsclere.

Andrew Balding is set to give the blue-blooded CASUAL SMILE further racecourse experience at Ascot on Saturday and the filly looked in fine form for that assignment in her midweek work at Kingsclere.

She is by the 2,000 Guineas, Derby and Arc winner Sea The Stars out of Balding's own Classic winner Casual Look, who plundered the Oaks in his first season with a licence.

Casual Smile shaped with abundant promise on her debut at Newmarket when narrowly beaten by a highly-rated rival and she appears to have come on at least as much could be normally expected between her first race and her second.

POOL HOUSE is a colt that should soon be winning and he looked in good order limbering-up for a trip to York on Sunday.

The son of Sakhee's Secret hasn't done much wrong in troubling the judge in both career outings at Sandown and Newmarket and is a winner waiting to happen.

HIGHLAND ACCLAIM shaped quite well on his debut at Ascot and appears to have done well for that ahead of his run at Kempton on Friday.

HIGHLAND KNIGHT was another eyecatcher in his latest piece of stronger work and looks a leading player for the Superior Mile at Haydock.

Balding has done well with his runners in the north west this year and this front runner should go well in the Group Three.

PRAIRIE RANGER has performed consistently well and moved nicely in his work. He is one to look out for in the coming days.
